What is the surgical procedure for bunions?

Undergoing bunion surgery would require you to be an inpatient in the hospital, having a general anaesthetic in an operating theatre. During which time I would make an incision on the side of the foot, make various bone cuts, and realign the toe. There is a soft tissue element to the correction also, and this would involve possibly a second incision on the top of the foot. After the operation, you’d have a significant bandage on the foot and your weight bearing would be limited for almost up to six weeks after the surgery.
