So my aims for you following hip replacement are that you have a relief of your symptoms, particularly of pain and stiffness. After having a hip replacement, I would expect you to be able to play tennis, play golf, go on long walks without too much of a problem. People often ask if they can run marathons and things like that, following surgery. And whilst you can, there is a small chance that you’re going to damage the hip replacement as doing that. So I don’t strongly encourage that type of activity.
