Emeka is a Consultant Orthopaedic Hip Surgeon practising at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. His practice includes all aspects of hip surgery including hip replacements, hip redo or revision surgery, hip arthroscopy and sports injuries around the hip including sports man’s hernia (Gilmore’s Groin) and adductor longus tears and tendinitis. He uses the muscle sparing direct anterior approach for hip replacements which allows some patients a faster recovery.

He is passionate about innovation and technology and has extensive experience in computer navigation and robotic surgery which helps provide bespoke solutions for his patients. His holistic and evidence-based medicine approach allows him to use non-surgical treatments effectively.  Mr Oragui audits his practice and monitors his outcomes to ensure his patients receive the best available care.

TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS

Training

  • Emeka read medicine at Cambridge University (Pembroke College) and gained higher surgical training in Trauma & Orthopaedics on the Royal London Hospital Programme.
  • He completed a 1-year Fellowship in Complex hip surgery and Trauma in Sydney, Australia
  • On returning to the UK, he undertook a further specialist hip surgery fellowship at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford, focusing on hip preservation surgery
