Hel is a Consultant Orthopaedic Sarcoma Surgeon practising at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore. She is a member of the London Sarcoma Service and specialises in primary bone and soft tissue sarcomas, benign tumours and metastatic disease. Her focus is to provide a patient-centred approach incorporating shared decision making with specialist experience to achieve the best outcomes for her patients. She works closely with her oncology colleagues as well as other surgical specialties to ensure that her patients benefit from a full multidisciplinary team.

SPECIALIST EXPERIENCE
- Consultant Orthopaedic Sarcoma Surgeon within the London Sarcoma Service based at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital
- Highest volume bone tumour unit in the United Kingdom
- Complex pelvic resections and reconstructions
- Use of biological reconstructions including vascularised bone graft
- Experienced in the computer assisted design and manufacture of custom implants including non-invasive growers
- Runs a multidisciplinary practice alongside plastic, vascular, general, thoracic and urology surgeons

- BSc, MBBCh, MSc, FRCS Eng (Tr & Orth)
- Higher surgical training on the prestigious RNOH rotation
- International fellowship in sarcoma and joint reconstruction – Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, Australia
- UK Sarcoma Fellowship at Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore
- Appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Sarcoma Surgeon April 2019
RESEARCH, PUBLICATIONS, TEACHING
Hel has published in peer review journals, is author of many book chapters and editor of “Operative Orthopaedics – The Stanmore Guide”.
She sits on the executive committee of the British Orthopaedic Oncology Society as the education lead and is responsible for organising the oncology sessions for the British Orthopaedic Association.
Hel is passionate about training future surgeons and coordinates the oncology FRCS teaching at RNOH as well as working closely with industry to run workshops for trainees from across the United Kingdom.
