Erden is a consultant hip and knee surgeon practicing at the world-renowned Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (Stanmore) in London, Princess Grace Hospital, 14 Devonshire Street and Nuffield Cambridge. His practice encompasses all aspects of hip and knee surgery, minimally invasive hip and knee replacements and includes complex and redo surgery. His interests also lie in partial knee replacements and sports knee injuries. He has a meticulous approach and recognises good communication is essential in order to provide truly patient centred care.

  • He completed a doctorate at Magdalene College, Cambridge, having received the highest research grant ever awarded to an individual by the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA), he received a distinction for his thesis.
  • He completed an intercalated BSc in Neuroscience at Imperial College London
  • He completed international fellowships in world-renowned centres. He did a year long international fellowship in complex reconstruction and revision surgery at the very high-volume centre at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, where he learnt the minimally invasive anterior approach
  • He completed a sports knee injuries fellowship and travelling research scholarship programme at the Steadman Clinic and Steadman Philippon Research Institute in Vail, Colorado, USA.
  • He has fellowship level training in major trauma.

RESEARCH, PUBLICATIONS, TEACHING

  • Awarded over £115,000 of peer reviewed research grant funding over his career
  • Reviewer for the prestigious Journal of Arthroplasty.
  • Completed a master’s level Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education at the University of Cambridge,
  • Teaches on several FRCS courses, preparing aspiring orthopaedic surgeons for the consultant accreditation examination
