- Consultant Orthopaedic Hand & Wrist surgeon at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust
- Dual fellowship trained in Hand & Wrist surgery.
- Alex’s first fellowship was a true ortho-plastic fellowship, including microsurgery and major hand trauma at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital & The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham. His second fellowship was at Guys & St Thomas’ Hospital in London, a tertiary referral centre with focus on complex hand & wrist orthopaedic conditions.
- Awarded the European Diploma in Hand Surgery in 2022
- Member of the British Society for Surgery of the Hand, International Wrist Arthroscopy Society, International Bone & Research Society
TRAINING + QUALIFICATIONS
- Alex read medicine at Imperial College London, and whilst completing his junior surgical training undertook a Master’s degree again at Imperial College London in Surgical Education. His thesis on Orthopaedic training gained a merit award.
- During his training Alex spent time as a rugby league team doctor, judo championship doctor, and as an expedition medic for Mount Kilimanjaro. He also spent a year training at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore before gaining a higher Orthopaedic training number in the Kent Surrey & Sussex deanery.

- Current clinical audit & research lead for Trauma & Orthopaedics at Frimley Park
RESEARCH, PUBLICATIONS, TEACHING
- Alex has presented his research work at regional, national & international conferences, winning numerous prizes, including nomination for the “Best of the Best” award at the British Orthopaedic Association. He has published his research in peer reviewed journals.
- Alex regularly attends National & International conferences to keep up to date with the latest techniques & developments within Hand and Wrist surgery. He is current educational supervisor and trains aspiring hand & wrist surgeons in the region.
