Grosvenor Orthopaedic Partners LLP are proud to share a significant milestone in orthopaedic trauma surgery. Mr Mark Webb recently performed the first-ever hip arthroscopy for trauma in the Paul Calvert Theatres at St George’s Hospital, London — marking a pioneering moment for the team and for trauma care at the Trust.
Hip arthroscopy, a minimally invasive surgical technique traditionally used for elective procedures, was expertly adapted in this case to treat a traumatic injury — a development that could have wide-reaching implications for the future of orthopaedic trauma surgery. The successful execution of this case is a testament to the dedication, adaptability, and collaborative spirit of the entire surgical and theatre team.
“It’s fantastic to be able to use minimally invasive techniques in a trauma setting,” said Mr Webb. “The benefits to patients in terms of reduced tissue damage, faster recovery, and improved outcomes are considerable.”
This achievement highlights the continuous commitment of Grosvenor Orthopaedic Partners and St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to innovation and excellence in patient care.
