We were delighted to welcome friends and colleagues to our recent winter CPD evening, kindly supported by HCA Healthcare UK. The event brought together clinicians from across the multidisciplinary team (MDT) for an evening of practical education, discussion and networking – all with a shared goal of improving patient care.
An evening focused on real-world clinical practice
The programme featured talks from Miss Heledd Havard, Mr Alex Vaughan and Mr Jon Palmer, with imaging insights and case discussion led by Dr Rajat Chowdhury. Together, they shared practical tips, case-based learning and up-to-date guidance designed to support everyday clinical decision-making.
Across the sessions, our speakers covered:
- How to recognise key “red flag” symptoms and signs
- When to refer for specialist orthopaedic or radiological assessment
- The role of advanced imaging in diagnosis and treatment planning
- Strategies for optimising outcomes through early intervention and coordinated care
The format encouraged questions and open discussion, allowing colleagues to share their own experiences and challenges from clinical practice.
Strengthening MDT collaboration
One of the most valuable aspects of the evening was the opportunity to bring together GPs, specialist nurses, allied health professionals, radiologists and surgeons in the same room.
By sharing perspectives across the MDT, we can:
- Build stronger working relationships
- Improve the quality and clarity of referrals
- Align expectations around diagnosis, treatment pathways and follow-up
- Ultimately provide more seamless, patient-centred care
Events like this are an important part of how we at Grosvenor Orthopaedic Partners aim to support our colleagues and the wider healthcare community.
Thank you for joining us
Thank you to everyone who attended, contributed questions and stayed to network afterwards – and to HCA Healthcare UK for their generous support of the evening.
We look forward to hosting further CPD events and educational opportunities in the year ahead.
